Health Practitioners

Mr Christian Smith (m)

Christian is an Advanced Paramedic Practitioner, please see below for information on Christian's role in the practice.

Paramedics are a new concept in primary care but we are generalists at heart, much like GPs. I am an independent prescriber and would undertake health and medication reviews as they present. I do not see infants under 6 months old however or patient’s presenting with problems or concerns pertaining to women’s health. My experience is in acute care, and so my role lends itself nicely to the typical appointments usually seen by the duty doctor.

Healthcare Assistants

Mrs Katrina Flaherty (f)
Healthcare assistants support practice nurses with their daily work and carry out tasks such as phlebotomy (drawing blood), blood pressure measurement and new patient checks. They may act as a chaperone when a patient or doctor requests one.
